Jana and Terry Leeper endowed the Jana and Terry Leeper '86 Scholarship in computer science and computer engineering. Their scholarship, established with the Texas A&M Foundation, is focused on assisting incoming freshmen pursuing degrees in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) at Texas A&M University.
Terry is currently the chief technology officer for business-to-business at Amazon with teams in Seattle, Austin and Madrid. Prior to this role, Terry was in charge of Amazon's vendor facing software and hardware planning, and he ran the company's retail workflow engine. Before Amazon, he worked at Microsoft for 12 years. He owned much of the Visual C++ product including compilers, libraries and debugger before moving to England to lead developer tools sales and marketing in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Terry later traveled to China where he created Microsoft's Developer Division in Shanghai.
He holds degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from Texas A&M and is currently an active member of the CSE Advisory Council.
Jana is a graduate in secondary education from the University of North Texas. She taught senior high school for more than 10 years in Texas and Washington. She remains very active in her community.
The Leepers live in the Austin, Texas, area and have three children. Their oldest daughter, Kathryn, is a class of 2018 Aggie.
