Mays Business School turns 50 years old this year, and a celebration is scheduled for Sept. 7-8 that will offer programming for current and former students and their families. The milestone event coincides with the Texas A&M University vs. Clemson football game.
Dean Eli Jones, who has received MBA and Ph.D. degrees from Mays, shares that he is eager to see former students, classmates and leaders that weekend. He said the success of Mays among more seasoned peers is worth celebrating. “Considering Mays is only 50 years old and we are a Top 20 public business school indicates the quality of our faculty, staff, students and programming,” he said.
Activities on Sept. 7 will take place in the Wehner Building, home of Mays Business School. Registration starts at 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 7, and after a welcome from Dean Eli Jones, adult attendees can attend two of four Lifelong Learning Sessions. The topics will be Lifelong Learning, Mays Transformational Leadership, Professional of the Future, and Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. After the sessions, all the speakers will join Dean Jones in a Plenary Panel Discussion.

Simultaneously, attendees in grades seven through 12 can attend “Discover Mays,” offering fun activities and competitions with current Business Honors students. Camp Mays, for attendees in kindergarten through grade six, will include activities such as learning Aggie Yells and hearing about life in the Corps of Cadets.
Throughout the afternoon, the Mays Memories and Taste of Aggieland will be set up in Cox Hall and the Cocanougher Center. Mays Memories will trigger trips down memory lane. Taste of Aggieland will serve up favorite flavors of Bryan/College Station.
Reunions and regaling will be 5 to 7 p.m. in various locations. Check wereaMAYSing.com for up-to-date scheduling. Then experience “Celebrate50” at The George Hotel, with a Yell Practice beginning at 8:30 p.m. Children are welcome.
On Saturday, Sept. 8, food, games and music will comprise the Game Day Celebration in the Wehner Building courtyard and lobby. Events will begin at 1 p.m. and continue until the scoreboard shows 00:00 after the fourth quarter. Former athletes will sign 12th Man towels. The Texas A&M vs. Clemson game will be televised throughout the area.
